Registration for GST must be done if:
An enterprise/business has a GST turnover of $75,000 (Gross business income – not profit), excluding any GST, non-taxable sales, enterprise not connected, input-taxed sales or not connected with Australia
Accounting methods:
ACCRUAL (non-cash)
(GST is accounted on raised sales/supplier purchases, Paid or not.)
Aggregated turnover of MORE than $2 million
CASH
(GST is accounted on sales paid and paid for the purchases.)
Aggregated turnover of LESS than $2 million
Sales must have tax invoices issued – GST collected
Purchases must be provided tax invoice/receipt – GST paid
Activity statements must be lodged
